Mitigating Misfire and Fire-through Faults in Hybrid Renewable Energy Systems Utilizing Dynamic Voltage Restorer

Recently, there was a great focus on integrating renewable energy sources (RESs) into electrical power systems (hybrid systems) due to their many environmental and economic advantages. The output of most these RESs is DC; some electronic devices, including inverters, must be used integrate the grid. Any maloperation, faults, or improper control in devices will enormously affect hybrid systems’ performance. This paper aims mitigate misfire fire-through faults that occur at switching inverter connects three sources: PV, wind, fuel cell mitigation such (misfire fire-through) performed through optimal tuning PI controller driving dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) connected system’s AC side. optimization technique particle swarm (PSO). While mitigating two using PI-PSO for DVR, improved system performance voltages, currents, powers waveforms achieved. Besides, were kept continuous operation without disconnection from during faults.
